Evolution and Ethics are Logically Incompatible

Evolution and ethics contradict.

That is because human dignity relies on a universal—‘humanness’—which can be defined and recognized.

However, under evolution, every species is ‘in flux’, each lineage and organism headed in its own potential path of speciation. (apparently random and not teleological)

Therefore under evolution the universal—‘humanness’—can’t refer to a stable category with stable recognition, but instead is a pragmatic arbitrary name for a collection of organisms.

Since with this in mind, we can’t recognize who’s a human being and who’s not, so also, we can’t attribute human dignity without being arbitrary.

So evolution and human dignity are irreconcilable.

This is why many evolutionary theorists have historically supported eugenics. Some modern evolutionists pay lip service to human dignity but have to swallow the contradiction as a result.

Pick your poison. Christians believe in a single ‘kind nature’ for human beings based on the creation narrative in Genesis, and based on humanities scriptural ‘image bearer’ status.

Also, to those who say evolution and Christianity are compatible, we need only ask them one question: what ‘humanity’ did the Logos assume in His, incarnation, death, resurrection and ascension? The same contradictions result, it’s arbitrary who is saved and who isn’t.

Creationism isn’t stupid, evolution is.
